NPC Series

Meet the Creator: Tony

Give us a quick overview of what you make!

I post weekly NPCs on Patreon with everything you need to run them in your D&D 5e game. Each post comes with a portrait of the NPC made with Portrait Workshop. Each has 3+ pages of who they are, where they came from, what they want, how they act, and a custom-made 5e stat block with unique abilities.

Whether you are looking for an NPC on the spot, inspiration for an upcoming session, or just a cool 5e stat block, I am here to help!

I also have other 5e stat blocks & Items as well as DM resources that I add as I find them.

A bust image of a rugged, broad-shouldered man. His hair is very dark brown with a single brilliant green lock. He has a large mustache and mutton-chops. His eyes are are a deep green. He is wearing a rustic grey linen shirt with a forest green vest…

How did you get started in gaming?

I have played ttrpgs on and off most of my childhood with different groups and different games. But a few years ago I had a really tough situation with my family that had me and my wife in a dark palace. I wanted to give her a distraction, somewhere all the drama was irrelevant. So I build her a world and started running a 1:1 game for her where her character was the focus. I knew at that moment DMing was for me. I since then have been made many more worlds (some I may write up and share in the future) and have run games with different groups and love every second of it.

What inspired you to create NPCs?

NPCs are my favorite part of running the game. I mean, why play just one PC when I can play every NPC right? I found that whenever I would buy a new D&D book from Wizards of the Coast, the first thing I would do is skim it to see what new crazy characters they had and how I could work them in my game. So I realized, why not share my own crazy cast of characters? I enjoy making them, and if I can help other DMs in the process why not! 3 months in and I could not be happier with my decision.

What is your next big goal for gaming-related work?

I have a few bigger projects I am working on including Metal & Metallurgy which will be a system for making magic items out of base materials and the lore of those materials.

My main focus now is building out the Encyclopedia of NPCs as quickly as I can. We are at 20+ and I know the more I have there, the more helpful it is!

This brings me to a special NPC to say thank you to Worlds Unending for this opportunity! :) Grestian is not only one of my favorite NPCs I have released to date, but his backstory ties into the Court of Seasons I will be releasing through August! Grestain’s “Archfey Curse - Beast Transformation” is one of those abilities that I think is super fun to run for DM, which really important in my eyes. This also is the first time I am showing off my new Fey Themed content profile that I am unbelievably happy with.

What's one fun fact people should know about you?

Funny enough, I am actually Dyslexic and was diagnosed when I was 5. Being in a position of writing now I find really funny, since earlier in my life nothing in the world made me more frustrated. So if in my posts there are small spelling mistakes or the wrong spelling of a word, I am sorry for that. I have a lot of screening and filters these posts go through, but sometimes things still get missed.

Meet Grestian!
